Golf Tournament July 25-30

The W. E. Cole Cotton States Invitational Golf Tournament is a match play event held annually at Bayou DeSiard Country Club in Monroe, Louisiana attracting some of the top collegiate and amateur players in the country. The 2011 tournament will be held from July 25-30. The Cotton States has a rich tradition of high level of competition with several past contestants and champions moving on to success on the PGA Tour. This tournament will be contested by a 36-hole stroke play qualifying, with the sixty-four low qualifiers advancing to match play. The match play portion of the tournament will consist of two matches per day over the next three days. Contestants must have a 1.8 USGA certified handicap index or less to enter. The W. E. Cole Cotton States Invitational Golf Tournament is affiliated with the Scratch Players World Amateur Ranking and the top finishers will receive world ranking points.

In 2008, Ron Pritchard, completed a renovation of the Bayou DeSiard Country Club Golf Course, thus recapturing many of the original Perry Maxwell image with small, rolling, undulating greens. Other upgrades include new 419 Bermuda fairway grass and MiniVerde™ greens and some newly added and rebuilt, laser leveled tee boxes enhancing the overall design. Also, the course was lengthened by 350 yards to play at 7234 yard from the championship tees. We feel these changes are positive and will create an exciting challenge for all contestants..
